Here is 'Bluenose' . It is 1978 and she is being hauled out of the garden after a long re fit. The keel had been off and weight increased, wooden mast replaced with Ali, Transom hung rudder and longer cockpit, Keel cooled Stuart Turner, you can just see the pipe under the boat. |

I was justly proud of the paintwork here. I had removed the GRP sheathing that had suffered osmosis and allowed rot in the transom, and stern deck. The woodwork repaired she had about 14 coats to get that finish! | ||||

Under sail again! I replaced the jaded headsail, it is cotton! with a roller reefing genoa the next season. |

With the family growing, we used her 24 ft to the full, but it was obvious we were running out of space on board, which is why I bought the bare hull of the 26 (27' 3"actually) to replace her in 1983. |
