Identify my new boat

Hi, I've just bought a wonderful wooden boat, ready for lots of work and possibly as a new home (time I put into practice what I've thought for a while! )
I know very little about wood on a boat (so expect lots of questions in the very near future, including converting her to a Junk Rig, my poison of choice).
However, first things first - I need to identify her. The seller tells me it's a Golden Hind 28; but my very basic research is pointing me towards a 27 Eventide (the stretched 26) - I've attached a pic.
Other details (to be verified) are: built in Bristol late-70's/early-80's, by a shipwright, has a brass plaque with either 8.24 (which is 27') or 8.42 (which is 27.6') and the name (which I've forgotten; noted it down wrongly) but something like Gambora (seller tells me French for carry). Hull is copper-fastened diagonal planking, with marine ply over. Engine is an Arona, single, 8 or 10hp. Wood mast, looks Gaff rigged

Hi Paschall,

surprised no one has come forward... she is most definitley an Eventide, a stretched 26 maybe if the length is 27 ft.

The ballast keel iron was 10" deep on the later post 1973 version,weighted 1660lb. It was 8" deep approx on earlier ones and weighed in at 12oolb. many added 400lb plus of internal ballast to make them sail better.

The Gaff rig is unusual, it was not on the drawings, but several boats were built with it, makes it an interesting boat to sail.
