I recently acquired a YM Senior here in Nova Scotia ,Canada ...I believe it was built in 1982 and was #1463.
it was stored for the past 10-15 years inside. It has some dry rot...and needs some TLC to make her seaworthy again. It is a MK2 verison i believe since it has a lead keel ( guessing 150 lbs plus) presently the keel is not attached.

anyone with information that i can use to refurbish this Senior would be much appreciated.

also, I am curious if there are other Canadian owners of a YM Senior.

was there a record off when the 1463 plans were purchased and by whom??

I am looking forward to hearing from you folks with much info.

Hi, good to hear from another Senior owner.
I purchased a set of plans in the 1980s and my sail number is 1556.
There is a section on the builders page about my Senior Bethem and an article in Watercraft Magazine appeared in the September/October 2020 edition.
This is the second Senior I’ve owned, the first was a mkll with centre ballast and bilge keels. My current one has a centreplate and sails very well.
Plans are available on the site, and they are easy boats to fix.

Regarding you having had both versions of the Senior. Does the centre plate sail much better than the centre ballast + Bilge keels one? And where your bilge keels plywood or steel?

My Senior, Mikros, has a dropped centre ballast and to 1 foot deep steel bilge keels. Just wondering how it would compare to a centre plate one.
