Hello everyone,i recently renewed the eye bolt on the stem of my Eventide 24,the bobstay was a solid stainless bar,i am thinking of replacing this with a chain and bottle screw as there is no adjustment on the solid bar,are there any problems that i should know about before i go ahead, Thanks, Chris...

Thanks for the reply,i have got hold of a nice galvanized 1/2 inch eye bolt, its allready in and looks the part,hopefully it will last a while.

Hi,i need to change the eyebolt on the end of my bobstay,it is nearly worn through,do i use an ordinary galvinised one or a stainless bolt Thanks.

Thanks John,i was thinking along the same lines,i have tried the big wooden wedges but my outboard(Tohatso) engine cowling is too long and fouls the stern,and if i use bigger wedges i cant reach the engine,it looks like plan b the steel contraption.

hi, there a number of web sites available,use google and type in" prop pitch" and see what comes up,when i re-engined my boat in january of this year i was faced with the same problem, the engine i put in was 4hp larger than the old petter,the web sites are provided free by the various prop suppiers...

At last i have changed my trustee mini six for a volvo penta 10 hp diesel,(sounds quite modern eh)so my little boat wont stop every time the wind is on the nose and i want to go home for tea.
