The Eventide Owners Group was formed by builders and owners after the eoa opted to have non owners running it at their agm in January 2003. The real owners were so rudely treated they left the meeting. It was requested by these owners, that we offer practical help to all those real owners of Y.M. sponsored designs, and to the owners of other craft, by the same designers, to enable amateur builders to exchange views and experiences, and for the interchange of technical knowledge. This we hope we have done, and 1650 plus think so too! We are now a 'legally formed' unincorporated association, under the 'Charity Commission' rules, with a proper constitution and steering group. The old assoc foundered.
Brian West, now a Justice of the Peace, has agreed to become our 'Donations Fund Manager'.
You can contact Brian direct on brianvc.west at ntlworld.com
Whilst we are not begging for money to support the site, we are indebted to the following Companies, Organisations and Individuals who have contributed in many ways, including cash donations, to ensure this site can continue to support those interested in our designs.

Fund Managers' Report 2015 – 2016
For the first time I have to report a small trading loss for the past year. This loss was due to a large, unavoidable, expenditure on IT. It was anticipated that the loss would be much higher than this.
The good news is that our income is at a similar level as previous years.
We do not anticipate a repeat of this level of expenditure in this year’s results
I would like to congratulate, and thank, John and the committee members for their management of the Group in what was an ‘interesting’ year.
Our financial assets are:

Treasurers Report 2008/9
The past year has been another good year for the EOG. We had some major expenditure this year as John Williams’ PC, which he uses for his Saving Old Seagulls business could not cope with the sheer volume of data involved in managing and further developing the EOG site as well. We brought a new PC for the EOG and a KMV switch as he still uses his old peripherals because John does not have enough room on his desk for a second keyboard, mouse, printer etc. John still uses his old PC for his personal business use and the new PC is only used for EOG purposes.
In spite of the large expenditure on the new PC we still made a small profit of this year of £38.17, so the organisation in going into the new financial year in a strong position. The only planned project for next year is to migrate to a new service provider to host the EOG web site; Easy space’s recent performance has left a lot to be desired with outages of the web site being caused by their poor management; they are also very expensive. John will be working on this during the year and we expect to receive a better, more reliable service at a lower cost.
Last year a donation to a local youth sailing charity was agreed but this was put on hold until the PC issue had been resolved. The accounts are in a healthy position and we can now make this donation.
PayPal charges have risen from 5.31 % last year to 5.88% this year.

28.3.2008, The amount in the account at the moment, from donations, flag, DVD and CD sales and donated items sold, less fees for scanning our drawings, is approx £1150. See below for the accounts for the last year. New accounts soon. We have also used the funds to purchase a new batch of Burgees! We also have a small amount of money in a PayPal Account, which we will allow to accumulate until we can transfer it without a charge, so if you want to add to it to speed the day when we can, click on the donate button!! However there is a small fee that we have to pay out of a donation this way, so for UK based people a cheque to E.O.G. is better.
We have a Lloyds account that our donations fund manager Brian West has organised. Members of the steering group are authorised signatories.
Thank you to you all. I will try not place your name on the roll of honour twice, but you know who you are. Many have sent in a £5 or £10 donation, most generous. We do not need much to be able to keep this going, a couple of pounds a person would do it easily, probably less. We hope never to need to ask for a subscription. There is simply no need to, we have very limited overheads. Our Donations Fund Manager will work out the annual accounts and publish them here after our Annual Meeting.
We have now been running for over five years. We have enough to keep the site running till well into 2016! We have paid for a very big web site, the domain name and now latest update to 1 Gb site!. Next year we renew some more of the parts of the site, that will take the reserve down, but we have a few burgees in the kitty, and they are now all profit! Only £7.50 a time plus £1.50 post UK! (Post office has increased it's charges!)
There are no longer any non internet owners sending in stamps for the latest Newsletter, all are on line, even 88 year old Jack! We have now stopped sending Newsletters by post. They were getting too large anyway! So many owners are helping to make them so, by supplying material for the site and Newsletters.
Cheques should be written payable to 'Eventide Owners
Group' tele. 01621 778859 for address to send to, or for overseas
owners, who cannot send a sterling cheque, we have set up a
system so you can donate on line securely using 'Pay pal'. (If UK based
please use a cheque to avoid the PayPal charge we have to pay).
Pay Pal charge a small percentage, about £0.50p on £5.00 so
the EOG will not get quite all your donation, but as many people find this a
quick and easy way of sending money we felt it was worth doing. There is a slight problem in
as much as we may not have the full details of the donor, but as some have
donated anonymously anyway, for what ever reason, we do not think this
will be a problem.. You will be in touch by e-mail if you are ordering a
burgee or a CD, so we will be aware of the purpose of your donation...
We have set up a club account and have investigated applying for charity status, as we are non profit making existing on donations alone and willing to help any builder or restorer of these craft. We are informed by the Charity Commission that we simply have to be a 'Non incorporated Association', which is what we have become. As has always been the case, we are particularly interested in advising and assisting youngsters, youth groups or schools and impecunious boat owners!
Please ring, or e-mail me for address to send cheques. 01621 778859, or click here or see the contacts page!
