Past builder of Eventide.

Post by jim912 »

As the builder of Kittiwake,I would be interested in getting in touch with the present owner,to find out how the boat is fairing now.
I have never forgot the wonderful times we had in Kittiwake.
I had to sell her at the time, when I switched hobby to flying microlight aircraft, which I still do. Both interest take up a lot of time which I couldn't do before I retired from work.
I hope one day to see Kittiwake again.

Hi Jim, Just in case we dont have Kittiwake listed under that name, can you remember the sail number? or approximately when you built and/or sold her,
it may just help John when he gets around to looking her up in our records. Thanks, Chris S

Or does this help?

Hi Chris,
Yes,your picture is definitely the Kittiwake that I built. It was after the death of my father,in 1985, who I used to sail with mostly, that I gave up sailing. You may have guessed that I am thinking that I would love to have a boat again.I fancy the Golden Hind.
To see Kittiwake again would be wonerful.
Thank you very much for your quick reply.
Jim.

Here she is at her mooring at Skippool Creek, I know its Skippool Creek cos I used to sail out of there 25 years ago,

I have spent many a happy night there, usually about 50 yards off the mooring, sat in the mud waiting for the next tide to float me off, well actually to float me & my boat off!

Also in the 1980s I helped to dig out & float a couple of Morcambe Bay Prawners (Nobbys) from very near there.
