Hello again,
further developments on my sailing baptism, i hanked on my small jib to my baby stay in an atempt to sail my e24 as a cutter result differant boat! points better sails at least a knot faster on a beam reach in a force 4 breeze, the boat just seemed to come alive, futher investigations reveal i need to make the stay sail self tacking to make it easyier to tack {i sail alone}, thanks for all your help, Rose.

To make it self tacking you might need to move the tack forward to allow room for a boom. If you mount the boom tack or gooseneck fitting about a foot behind the tack of the sail, it will naturally make the sail more full as you let the sheet go, works for me on Fiddler's Green!

How large is your genoa? I suspect it is not full size, i,e,, full length of luff and overlaping the mast. about 166 to 200 square ft works well!
