hi, my eventide 24 has a roller reefing jib, minding my own bussiness blissfully unaware of anything amiss enjoying a sail on sunday the club "expert" came over when i moored up said "that jibs too small" when fully unfurled only comes back as far as the mast, she can be rigged as a cutter, i have two other foresails in bags but they are the hank on type, any ideas, she sails realy well otherwise,
regards chris.

Hello Chris,

If you look around the site you will see most of us have a large genoa on a bowsprit as the normal foresail, nowadays on roller gear. I sailed with hank on sails for years, till I could afford a roller reefing gear, great bit of kit, use it all the time, makes it so easy, no trips to the foredeck if it gets lumpy!

We often have a staysail on the inner forestay as well, but often that only comes out high days and holidays!

The Gallery has loads of pics of our boats sailing and there is a page of hints and tips where the question of Weatherhelm is discussed at length.

What is the name of your ship? Is she not registered with us? Come along a join a genuine owners group! What's more it's free! Send a pic in for the gallery too.

Regards,
John

Hi Chris, now I know who you are, and of course we have pictures of you! I noted there was no bowsprit and extra headsails... I bet that changes in time!

When you change the name let us know, because we have just made sure she was correctly names Rose of Holcroft on the Database, there was some discussion about it!!

Glad you like your ship, she hopefully will do you proud!

Regards,
John
