What a bummer Chris! Stainless shafts can be expensive to buy from the big names, but aske local engineering firrms or boatyard workshops, they will often have old larger, worn ones that can be machined to size. worth a thought anyway.

If you are out of commission for a bit you will not be missing much though, worst weather for years!

cheers,
John

Hi John,

yes it is a bummer but with the weather being what it is i dont mind not using the boat, thats a good idea of asking around boat yards, they might have a usuable one in the scrap bin, a local engineering firm has got a 5ft x 1" bar of 316 that i can have for 50 quid i will just need to get it machined, so that may be the road to go down.

thanks,

Chris.(Rose).
