Moving and then storing a YM Senior for prolonged period

Post by keithos »

Hi

I am currently in the process of restoring the YM Senior 'Little Dipper', and have got a long way through but as I work in Italy for 10 months of the year I only get a couple of months per year to work on her so its taking a while to say the least. That has been fine as she has been sitting in my parents barn over that time so has been well protected, but this winter the barn needs to be emptied!

So basically I need to move her out of the barn and get a cover over her until I can finish her (hopefully next winter). The problem is that I do not have a trailer. I have seen boats moved on greased planks before but would appreciate any advice and tips on this and whether this is the best option. She only needs to go 25 feet in a straight line and will be empty.

She will be sitting out in the weather for a year or so, so if anybody has any tips on how to keep her safe and sound that would be great too.

Regards
Keith

Bet you have done it by now, but the greased plank works well, don't tread on it though!

local five a side team would move it in their halftime break!

Good luck,
