Building a Senior

Post by Phil Brook »

:D Hello,
Does anyone have any experience of building a Senior? It looks like it would fullfil my requirements, trailerable, easy to store, weekender, and looks like I could build it myself.
I have never built a boat before, I do intend to build a stitch and glue dinghy such as a PBO Pup first just to see how I get on.
Roughly how long and at what intensity would you expect it to take to build a Senior. I have basic skills but would not by any definition consider myself a craftsman!
Any other information would be gratefully received (Raw material suppliers, hints tip etc) also if anyone one on the south coast has a senior I would love to have a look at one in the flesh.
Cheers for now

Senior advice

Post by Piskie »

Phil,
Have you checked out the Advisors page on our website?
Geoffrey Hyde-Fynn and Tony Showell have helped me out in the past.
I will check with John Williams about Senior owners in your area.
Cheers,
John Stevens.

Thanks John,
I'm slowly finding my way around the site. I have the plans now but have no idea about how to go about putting it all together.
There are words that I didn't know existed... Hogs, stocks and knees :? I guess it'll all make sense in the end.

Cheers Phil.

Phil,
If you are a bit confused about starting afresh, how about taking on my Senior. Good condition but a small amount of finishing.
Complete with rig, sails, old seagull motor and yard trailer.
Let me know.
Cheers,
Piskie.

Piskie, I could be tempted. Do you have any pics that you could send me, also do you have a price in mind?
