Hi Joe, I would guess the hull shape dictates the initial heeling and then the ballast kicks in. I am not sure if a ketch rig will improve that alot. Maybe it is a case of adding more ballast to keep the heeling angle low, or reducing sail earlier! Many of MGs boats were slightly under ballasted, so...

How large is your ge...

Hello there, the wire that comes from 3/4 up the mast should go to the stemhead, but if there is a very strong attachment place aft of that it could work, though it will limit the foot length of the sail. More importantly, where the wire attaches to the mast there should be a fitting with a pair of ...

Hello Trev, we have seen a boat claimed to be a MG desgn to that spec. we questioned it too. the broker said the info was from a previous owner. we somehow doubt it! It has slight reverse sheer too. Not an MG trait. No buy it for what it is trev, for I cannot believe it is an MG. Regards, John Event...

Protecting Steel underwater.

I have just removed all the old antifouling and epoxy from my bilge keels. Or at least my crew has and I helped! After 15 year of patching up every season I thought it time to strip it all off and start again. Imagine my surprise to find the Galvanising as good as the day we first coated it, about 1...
