Apart from twisting the bottom planks a single chine hull is considerably more simple to construct than its double chine counterpart.

John its a 2 stroke motor, they run a dry sump and are lubricated by oil mixed in with the petrol, you know just like one of your oil slick  (oops sorry I mean seagull) outboard motors, the only oily type oil is possibly in the gearbox, but other than that I quite agree with the WD40 treatment.

Personally I think the 6hp is a bit small for an Eventide and the increased power would be most welcome, I even have a 6hp diesel in my stretched Senior and that doesn't feel particulary overpowered, As for the Sabb diesel, I know absolutely nothing about them and I am afraid that you will have to a...

1) With foam bouyancy you lose valuable storage space, which on a Senior there isnt that much of to start with. 2) The foam must either be bonded in or securely fastened otherwise it will just float away and over time most foams tend to absorb moisture, which can cause the dreaded rot 3) There just ...

After owning sailing a wooden bilge keel Senior for a couple of seasons I decided to build a replacement hull and deck in GRP, At the same time I threw away the bilge keels and increased the depth of the centre keel by 1 foot (30cms ish) and the length to 8 ft, the keel is 4 inches wide, this gave a...

It means that your Eventide was built from the 185th set of drawings sold which does make it a very early boat. While I do know that some of the early records are missing there is a chance that John (Mr Eventide himself) may possibly be able to advise you where & when your boat was built and maybe e...
