Fuel Tanks

I have a tinned steel fuel tank in Meldrum, That as far as I can see Is perfectly sound with little or no corrosion. It is original 45 years old and I did not intend to replace it. However I recently read in the BSS guide that tinned steel is not an acceptable material for a fuel tamks construction....

The Coachroof sides on Meldrum, are made of single 1" thick mahoganyplanks 18" wide, What is the best way of repairing the cracks that have appeared over time. I am thinking of routering out the crack half way through and inserting a graving piece and then doing the same on the other side and fittin...

I have removed the ports from the coach roof, These consist of oval glass rebated into the wooden coachroof sides and covered with screwed bronze cover plates.Would it be better to varnish the coach roof and rebates for the windows before reinserting the windows, and what bedding would be best
