Brush in 2 or 3 coats of epoxy then fill with epoxy resin and filler. Should do the job! You could of course cut a 1/2 inch by 1/4 inch hardwood strip and hammer that in with epoxy, that works too! Bet she will float OK next season! And presumably I do something similar with the softish wood under ...

John its a 2 stroke motor, they run a dry sump and are lubricated by oil mixed in with the petrol, you know just like one of your oil slick  (oops sorry I mean seagull) outboard motors, the only oily type oil is possibly in the gearbox, but other than that I quite agree with the WD40 treatment...

Old Stuart Turners had crank case drain plugs on the lower crak to drain them, I wonder if this motor has? The two strokes that I am familiar with have no o...

Excelsior engine in a WD

Please, I have been given an unfinished Wild Duck to restore. She has no sail or rigging and needs painting But my first challenge is the engine. It's an Excelsior 3 cylinder, two stroke and it has been laid up for a _VERY_ long time. Any suggestions as to where I can get help ? I have taken out the...
